About Us

"Our purpose is to help rebuild the Boomer community, and our justifiable pride in it, as well as to enjoy a better life for ourselves and those important to us."

-- Boomers Life

With those few words I started this website thirteen years ago, and we've come a long way since then. After conversations and emails with Boomers across the USA and around the world, it evolved into the present efforts to make that goal a reality.

Those conversations taught me how much our lives have changed since our early days when everything seemed possible. Friends expressed concern about not having achieved everything they wanted to do, about physical limitations, and about feeling cut off from people they cared about. Some had resorted to prescription drugs, to ever-smaller circles of friends, or to daily chores and TV that keep hands and eyes occupied.

For them, I sought out the positive side of growing up as Boomers. The people we knew back then didn't disappear -- almost all of them are still out there somewhere and many of them are doing remarkable things. The music from those days is always with us -- waiting to be turned loose on sound systems that rock our room and our lives.

One out of every three adults around us today is a Boomer. We are surrounded by people who shared those memorable days with us. Underneath their white shirts, pastel blouses or jogging jackets you will discover a tie-dyed shirt, so to speak. Our recognition sign with them is our music. Play it and see what happens. Reach out through your friends and it will happen.
